Scott Hargood

Director

Scott is a Licensed Builder Practitioner and the director of Hargood Renovations & Extensions. He has over 15 years’ experience in the industry and at this point - has seen it all!

Scott is a proud born and bred local and thinks there’s no better place to raise his young family here in Whangarei!

During Scott’s apprenticeship he was lucky enough to be part of the team that built the visitor centre at Waitomo Glowworm Caves, which features an impressive Maori hinaki (eel trap) inspired entrance way.

After completing his apprenticeship in 2010, Scott undertook a fantastic opportunity in Perth for a large scale commercial operation, where he gained immense knowledge installing aluminium joinery.

Upon his return to New Zealand, Scott focused on renovations and extensions with the idea of providing a superior, second to none service, thus, Hargood Renovations & Extensions, was implemented in 2015.

Scott believes quality workmanship, on time and to budget is non-negotiable. He works with the clients, taking time to understand their needs, providing honest advice and do-it-once-do-it right solutions.

From large scale commercial construction to specialised residential renovations, Scott has extensive industry knowledge, giving you peace of mind that your project is in very capable hands!

Ash qualified in 2013. He is our Supervisor and Project Manager. Ash enjoys building as he likes seeing the end product fit to stand the test of time. Outside of work, he's an avid fisherman and dirtbike rider!

Brad has been building for 15 years and became a qualified builder in 2007. He chose building to be his career as he likes to be able to create something from nothing. When Brad isn't working, you'll find him hanging out with family.

Nate finished his apprenticeship in 2017. He finds it really rewarding doing work he’s proud of and the variety. His hobbies include surfing, fishing and hanging out with friends and family.

Mana qualified in 2019. He enjoys building because he’s always meeting new clients, working in new locations and always learning new things. Mana admits he’s addicted to fishing, spending time with family and enjoys the outdoors.

J’kya has been building with us for 2 years. His favourite part about building is seeing the finished project. When J'Kya isn't working, you will find him at the beach and hanging out with mates.

Brodee started with us in 2020. He chose building as his trade because he always enjoyed woodwork in high school. His favourite projects so far are the large renovations and decks. When Brodee isn't at work you'll find him with his mates, hunting and going to the beach.

Scott started building with us in 2020. His favourite projects so far are the big renovations. When Scott isn't working you will find him mucking around on the farm.

Hayley is the Office Manager. Coming from a large commercial construction company, she has bought accounts and administration experience to Hargood. You’ll find her keeping busy in the office, with the occasional site visit to check up on the guys. Outside of work, she’s a mum of two kiddies.
